Japan Chief Representative & Manager – Clean Energy & Advanced Manufacturing Sector Lead

Andrew joined Tractus in 2019 and brings with him a wealth of expertise in economic development. During his sixteen years with the State of Washington Department of Commerce’s export assistance group, he was responsible for helping companies in the clean technology, maritime, and advanced manufacturing sectors develop business in East Asia and Western Europe. In this role, he built a client base of more than 350 companies that reported sales of more than US $200 million resulting from Commerce assistance. Andrew also recruited and led business delegations to Mexico, Germany, the Netherlands, and Japan and served as the group’s chief outreach and education provider, conducting numerous export trainings for business audiences. In addition, he successfully led 12 overseas trade missions, with sales totaling ~$21 million for first two years after each mission.

Andrew has worked in and with Japanese companies and organizations since 1991. He served as a quality control representative for Nichirei USA, a Japanese food processing firm, with operations in the US Pacific Northwest. In this role, he negotiated pricing and terms with vendors as well as managed a substantial packing materials inventory worth US $800,000~$1,000,000 annually. In conjunction with this work, he also served as an assistant language teacher at four Japanese junior high schools. Andrew lives in Osaka, Japan with his family. He holds bachelor’s degrees in both Economics and International Studies, and an MBA with a focus in international business, all from the University of Washington.
